Sileby Ladies start well before suffering back to back tight defeats

The ladies cricket team has entered a team into the Women’s World Cup Indoor League hosted by Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

This year for the first time there is a regional final on 27th April, for the winning team to represent Leicestershire at the finals in Loughborough University against other local counties- Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

It is a 6 a side league which runs for 5 weeks and played on Tuesday nights at Beauchamp College against other local ladies teams- Kibworth, Market Overton, Electricity Sports, Countesthorpe and Street Stars.

The first week (22nd January) we couldn’t raise a team and had to forfeit our games, the second week (29th January) we won both games against Countesthorpe and Electricity Sports. Then there was a break in the fixture due to exams. Third week (12th February) we narrowly lost both games against Kibworth and Market Overton.

Next week (19th February) we play Kibworth at 6:30pm and Countesthorpe at 7pm, which hopefully we will forget about losing last week and come back fighting.
