A celebration of motoring heritage comes to Sileby this summer

This August, the sights and sounds of classic motoring will return to Sileby, as the Sileby Town Cricket Club prepares to host the much-loved Classic Car Show on Sunday 2nd August 2026.

From the moment the gates open at 1pm, visitors can expect an afternoon filled with nostalgia, community spirit, and the unmistakable charm of beautifully preserved vehicles that span decades of automotive history. Set against the welcoming backdrop of the local cricket club, the event offers the perfect excuse to slow down, take in the details, and enjoy a relaxed summer day surrounded by remarkable machines.

Rows of gleaming vintage and classic cars will take centre stage, each with its own story to tell — from elegant pre-war designs to iconic sports cars that defined generations. Alongside them, visitors will also discover a traction engine and a lively auto jumble, creating an atmosphere that feels part exhibition, part treasure hunt.

As the afternoon unfolds, the aroma of BBQ food will drift across the grounds, complemented by refreshments and bar facilities that make it easy to settle in and stay a while. With free parking and an entry fee of just £2 — with under 16s admitted free — it’s an event designed to be accessible and welcoming to all.

There’s also an important purpose at the heart of the day. This year’s show is proudly supporting Rainbows Hospice, helping to raise funds for a charity that makes a real difference to families across the region. Every visit contributes to that cause, adding extra meaning to an already special event.

For those who own a classic or noteworthy vehicle, there’s an opportunity to be part of the show itself — although spaces must be booked in advance. Anyone interested in displaying their vehicle can contact Tony Bolton on 07739 127375 or via fundraising@silebytown.co.uk to secure a place.

As summer reaches its peak, events like this offer something increasingly rare — the chance to step away from the rush of everyday life and spend a few hours enjoying craftsmanship, conversation, and community.

So whether you arrive for the cars, the food, or simply the atmosphere, the Sileby Classic Car Show promises an afternoon well spent.

Sunday 2nd August. 1pm to 6pm.
A date worth putting in the diary.
