Three narrow defeats from three games during the last week for our Under 11s, 13s and Under 15s Girls.

The Under 11s suffered a five-run reverse at home last Friday against Loughborough Carillon.

Carillon won the toss and opted to field and despite our Under 11s scoring more runs, 80 to Carillon's 65, we lost seven wickets to their three - leaving the visitors with a net score of 100 against ours of 95 to come away with a five-run win.

Zara Etty was the pick of our bowlers, claiming 3-10 from her four overs, as the Under 15s Girls narrowly missed out on progressing in the Under 15s Club T20.

Having won the toss, our hosts, Duffield, were dismissed for 97 with them being hugely grateful to skipper Zoe Boucherat for her 44 from 59 balls helping them to a defendable total.

Hannah Toyne (31 from 32 balls) and Nancy Ellis (18 from 38 balls) posted 57 for the first wicket we were well placed, but when they were both dismissed within seven runs of one another the run-chase stalled and we lost wickets regularly before being bowled out for 86 - 11 runs short of their target.

Tessa Preston top scored for the Under 13s as they posted 84 for 6 from their 20 overs against Uppingham.

The home side lost two wickets in their chase and finished with an eight wicket victory.
