A nerveless final over from Kieran Chance helped seal a one run win over the Langtons in the Leicestershire T20 final.

The slow left armer was left defending ten and looked up against it when a boundary came from the second ball but Chance held his nerve with a single coming from the third, a wicket from the fourth and another single from the fifth.

That left three needed from the final ball but Said Chauhan, who was well set on 34, could only muster a single to send Chance and his Sileby teammates into raptures.

The victory had looked a distant hope with the Langtons bossing the power play in their quest for 175 to win as they finished the sixth over on 67 for 2 - nearly doubling Sileby's 37 for 1.

However, Sileby's bowlers pegged it back in the middle overs with skipper Jake Gillett (2-27) particularly effective with his medium pace and Matt Ellis drew on all his experience to recover from going for 15 in his first over to go for 15 in his next three.

Ajay Khunti, who had top scored with 79 from 57 in the first innings, delivered a near perfect 16th over which cost just two runs and was the start of the momentum swing back in Sileby's favour.

The first innings had seen the Langtons come.out on top in the power play but Khunti and Greg Willows (31 from 33) added 68 for the second wicket and Gillett (17*) added 44 with his vice captain to push their side towards the 170 mark going down the stretch.

The final momentum swing was the most important as Chance's final over secured the title - the first in Sileby's history - and a place in the national finals day at Finedon next weekend where they face Finedon Dolben in the opening game and then follow up against Banbury.
