Shelton, who was vice captain previously, has taken on the role of captain permanently after Heather Beattie chose to step down due to work and family commitments.
A club spokesman said: "We're delighted that Phoebe was willing to take on the role and hope that this move provides some stability to the group as the Ladies look to push for promotion from Division One in to the regional Premier Division.
"We'd also like to thank Heather for her work as Ladies Captain over the past few years - she has done a fantastic job during that time and we look forward to her continuing to play for the club in the future."
The Ladies currently sit second in Division One of the WML with a key run of games coming up in the run in towards the end of the season.
