Firsts make return trip to Grace Road

The bowling attack justified skipper Josh Winterton's decision to bowl first as the home side were bundled out for 102 in the 32nd over with Jake Gillett picking up his fourth five-wicket haul of the season with miserly figures of 5-11 from his 8 overs.

He was supported by George Gowler (2-11) and Harry Bates (2-16) as the 32 overs yielded only 7 boundaries for the home side.

Our reply stuttered with both Gillett (0) and Henry Rogers (2) back in the hutch with 16 on the board. However, a stand of 69 between Liam Kinch (38) and Alex Kent (32) broke the back of the chase only for three wickets to fall for 16 runs, which set nerves jangling.

Brady Glennon and Kieran Chance soaked up the pressure and inched their side towards the finishing line - Glennon sealing the win with a straight maximum to finish unbeaten on 13 with Chance 5 not out.

The five-wicket win seals a return to Grace Road for our fourth County Cup final where we will face Kibworth on 19 September.

Kibworth defeated Egerton Park in their semi final yesterday by 97 runs having set their hosts 253 they dismissed the home side for 152.
