First team cruise to an 83 run win against Leicester Ivanhoe in Matchweek 2 as Steven Ingram returns to record his first ever five-wicket haul.

Sileby Town 1s secured an impressive win at Hinckley Road as left-arm seamer Steven Ingram registered his maiden five-wicket haul with figures of 5-15 from just 5.4 overs.

Defending 175 from 40 overs, the hosts were unable to build a much needed partnership as Harry Bates and makeshift opener Jake Gillett claimed the top four batsmen between them leaving them struggling at 41-4 in the ninth over.

A mini recovery lead by Yuvraj Odedra (29) and Philip Twigg (3) brought the home side to nearly 100 to win from a further 20 overs but the introduction of Ingram put paid to any hopes of a comeback.

Ingram claimed the final five wickets of the innings with Bates claiming three wickets and one apiece for Gillett and Kieran Chance.

Sileby started promisingly as we looked to set a target with Ajay Khunti (29) and David Torr (42) putting together a 68-run partnership before Khunti was trapped leg before to Odedra in the 17th.

Shortly after Gillett joined Torr, the latter was then bowled by James Lafferty before Liam Kinch (1) fell four balls later as Odedra claimed his second of the afternoon with his right-arm pace.

After the eventual departure of Gillett, the middle order failed to reach double figures respectively until debutant John Daly (11) assisted at the end as we reached 175 before picking up an unfortunate muscle strain which saw him miss out in the second half.

Ivanhoe's reply was affected almost instantly as Bates picked up the wickets of Sam Ward (2), Richard Durose (1) and Jake Beaumont (16) with Gillett removing Ollie Winder (8).

Slow left-armer Kieran Chance dismissed Odedra before Ingram's inspired spell helped the visitors to a second consecutive win and a long-awaited First Team Cap.

Kinch's side will attempt to go for a third successive win next weekend at Mill Lane as we host local rivals Barrow Town in the revised Everards Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League.
