A first Sileby century from overseas player Andries Gous led the Firsts to a narrow win away at Kibworth.

Going up against his franchise captain, PJ van Biljon, helped spur the hard hitting right hander on to a 130-ball hundred as he followed his match winning half century against Lutterworth with another match winning stay at the crease.

The South African notched 14 fours and a six as he shared in stands of 50 with Jake Gillett (22), 59 with Liam Kinch (25) and 77 with Josh Winterton (23) before being seventh man out for 112 with the score on 217 with seven balls of the innings remaining.

Gous becomes the second newly capped player this season following up on another new arrival, Ajay Khunti, who bagged his cap for his bowling performance earlier in the season.

Not to be outdone, van Biljon registered a century of his own for Kibworth with both men being pivotal to their sides batting efforts.

Harry Bates was in good form with the ball for the visitors as he removed Sunni Patel (6) and Matt Craven (24) inside the first ten overs. A stand of 42 between Vishal Patel (18) and van Biljon steadied the ship but then a run of three wickets lost for 21 runs in four overs, with Ryan Dawson (3-38) doing the damage, helped check the home sides momentum.

At 171 for 6 and with van Biljon still at the crease, the home side were still favourites but when he was run out by Winterton for exactly 100 with 22 needed and three overs to go Sileby began to sniff victory.

Bates' nerve held in the final over as he had Mahang Patel (0) caught by Kinch and then sealed the 25 points by having David Whitmore (11) caught by skipper Torr to finish with 4-31 and seal a six run victory.
