Marais notches maiden 1st Class century

Dewan Marais announced himself in 1st Class cricket with a bang scoring an unbeaten 180 in Easterns win over Northern Cape.

Marais, who is our 2026 overseas player, registered his highest 1st Class score batting at number 5 as Easterns amassed 424 in reply to Northern Cape's 204 all out. 

His 180 came from 260 balls with 18 fours and five maximums before the Easterns bowlers dismissed Northern Cape for 174 seconds time around to win by an innings and 46 runs. Marais also picked up three catches in the game, one in the first and two in the second.
