No games for the 3s and 4s on opening weekend
There was no action for the 3s and 4s as their games were cancelled - for differing reasons.
Despite the best efforts of everyone at the club the Fours match with Bharat Sports Thirds didn't go ahead - either at their home or ours.
With the game already cancelled at Bharat's Braunstone Lane East ground, efforts were made to switch the venue to Mill Lane. However, another deluge on Friday evening and water seeping under the covers put pay to any chances of any play.
The second pitch at Mill Lane had become available following the Thirds match against Leicester University Staff also being cancelled, with Uni Staff having been evicted from their ground. Having been unable to find an alternative venue they have, sadly, been forced to withdraw from the league.
The Fours do have a home game of their own this weekend when they host Horizon while the Thirds have an away trip to play Oakham 2s.
