Since the sad passing of Steve Black we, led by our superb Ladies section, have been at the heart of fundraising for causes in Steve's memory - this season is no different.

On Saturday 5 July, following the conclusion of the cricket - where we welcome Newtown Linford and Loughborough Greenfields to Cobalts Mill Lane - we're holding a quiz night to help raise funds to help make a very special young lady's wish come true - that young lady is Wren Wells.

Wren is a very brave youngster who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last October. Since then, she has taken on a grueling two year chemotherapy treatment plan. Despite this devastating diagnosis, she has attacked it with a huge amount of energy, strength and courage and it is her wish at the end of the treatment cycle to live her dream of being a Bonafide Disney princess at Disneyland.

Wren is the daughter of Newtown Linford player and longstanding friend of the Club Tom Wells and the granddaughter of Leicester Tigers legend John Wells.

We have a football team prediction card running at the moment - each team costs £5 with the winner standing the chance of winning £150 and the club will also be making a donation towards making Wren's dream come true from money taken during the night.
