Our Aim
The aim is to raise funds for a Pavilion extension that will help ensure the club can continue to grow
Who Are We?
Welcome to Sileby Town Cricket Club a leading cricket club in Leicestershire. Over the last 30 years the club has grown rapidly from having only 2 senior teams to having 16 sides with a thriving junior section, women's and girl's teams. From nurturing young talent in our junior teams, cheering on our senior squads, to hosting community events our club is a place where everyone is welcome to enjoy cricket. Join us as we take our club to the next level with your support!
Why Are We Crowdfunding?
We’re launching this crowdfunding campaign to transform our facilities. Sileby Town Cricket Club a truly inclusive space for all. Our goal is to build a vital extension that includes:
- A new toilet block to improve convenience for players, visitors, spectators and the local community
- A 3rd flexible changing area with an accessible shower facility to support diverse teams, including women’s and mixed groups
- Upgrades to our existing changing rooms to provide modern, comfortable spaces
- Improved disability access across the club, including a fully accessible toilet, to ensure everyone can participate without barriers
- Upgrade to our outdated kitchen to accommodate our growing community events
These improvements are essential to accommodate our growing membership, support new teams (including expanding opportunities for women and junior cricket), and meet accessibility standards. This project will make the clubhouse more accessible and welcoming by promoting equal access to sport and enhancing community facilities. Your support will help us remove barriers and create a welcoming environment for all
How We’ll Spend the Money Raised
We want you to know exactly how your generous donations will be used. Our target is to raise £15,000 towards the £116,000 we still must raise. Our volunteers are working hard to apply for grants and organise fundraising events. However, we still require YOUR help.
- New Toilet Block: Constructing a modern, high-capacity toilet facility to serve players and visitors during games as well as community events.
- 3rd Changing Area with Accessible Shower: Building a flexible changing space with an accessible shower to support diverse teams and players with disabilities.
- Upgrade Existing Changing Rooms: Refurbishing outdated facilities with new flooring, lighting, and fixtures for a better experience.
- Improved Disability Access and Accessible Toilet: Wider doorways, and a fully accessible toilet to ensure inclusivity.
Every penny will go toward making our club more inclusive and functional. If we exceed our goal, additional funds will support new equipment or further accessibility enhancements.
Community Impact
Sileby Town Cricket Club is more than a place to play cricket — it’s a hub for our entire community. These new facilities will benefit:
- Players of All Abilities: the accessible toilet, shower, and improved access will ensure players with disabilities can participate fully.
- Women’s and Junior Teams: the flexible changing area will support our growing women’s and youth programs, encouraging more people to take up cricket and play in our mixed sides.
- Local Community Events: our facilities are used for community events run by the clubs’ volunteers. These include our annual classic car show, charity music nights and charity quizzes. The club has been committed in the past few years in giving back a percentage of these events to local good causes including McMillian Cancer Research, local schools and other sport clubs. Over the years we have raised over £18,000 for charities.
- Families and Supporters: modern toilets and comfortable spaces will make match days enjoyable for everyone.
By investing in this project, we’re creating a space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can come together to play and watch cricket. This extension will strengthen our role as a community hub.
