Joe Charity hit our first century of the season while there were fifties for Ajay Khunti and Chris Yates.

The Seconds enjoyed their first outing under Steven Ingram's leadership as Joe Charity's unbeaten century helped them chase down Ibstock's 251 for 7 with comparative ease as they had more than four overs and eight wickets in hand.

He shared in a second wicket stand of 165 with Chris Yates (85 from 60 balls, eight fours, five sixes) to break the back of their run chase on a belter of an early season wicket at Melbourne Road.

Charity finished unbeaten on 101 from 110 balls with 17 fours to add to his 1-57 with the ball to pick up man of the match spoils. Skipper Ingram was the pick of the bowlers with 4-40.

The Thirds also had a comfortable win as they defended their 171 for 9 against Cropston 2s at Mill Lane.

Connor Simon top scored with 43 and shared in an opening stand of 68 with Robert Scullion (39) as they posted a below par score in their unfamiliar surroundings of pitch one.

The new ball pairing of Luke Hands (2-24) and Chris Preston (2-35) helped reduce the visitors to 48 for. 4 before a recovery with Mark Evans making 53 for the Stags before becoming one of two caught and bowled victims for George Bolton (2-8) and Sam Davies mopped things up at the end with two further scalps (2-12) as the visitors closed on 125 for 9.

The Firsts, however, couldn't make it a clean sweep as they lost by two wickets to Plumtree on pitch two at Mill Lane.

Khunti's 57 from 50 balls (ten fours) helped us post a competitive 197 for 6. Early strikes from Matt Ellis (3-24) helped get things underway but 92 from Richard Brazier helped see the visitors home with two wickets and three overs in the bank.

The Fours host Walton le Wolds 2s and the Ladies host Rothley Ladies today to round off our early season friendlies.
