Women wrap up indoor season with comfortable win

Our Women's side closed out their winter indoor season with a comfortable victory over Bharat Sports to seal third place in their group.

The six point haul, having won three of the four skins in addition to the three match points, was sealed with a 154 to 86 scoreline across the four batting pairs with Lauren Ellis once again in fine touch.

Ellis' 24 also took her to the top of the run charts in the group as well as finishing second in wicket takers as well.

It was a productive night for the.majority of our batters with Jayde Patterson and Tessa Preston adding a game high 54 with 29 and 25 respectively while Khushi Patel pushed Patterson close as top scorer with 28 of her own.

It was a tough day for the Bharat Sports bowlers, despite claiming eight wickets in the process, but they were unable to stem the flow of runs.

In reply, Ellis led the way with the ball, picking up four of the ten wickets to fall as Patel and Molly Satterthwaite offered excellent support with a brace of wickets each while all of the bowlers provided excellent control and low economy rates.

Overall, it was a productive winter for the Women with a number of youngsters making impressive contributions across the winter programme.

With the winter programme now over the focus is on the final build up to the start of the season.
