As the ladies’ team travelled to Thrapston, for their first game of the day against Bourne. Bourne won the toss and decided to put Sileby into field first.
Polly Huband opened the bowling and bagged 3 wickets in her first two overs, which put good pressure on the opposition.
Phoebe Shelton also took a wicket in her first over along with them both keeping the run rate down.
Grace Huband presented a great fielding performance, putting pressure on the batters. Chloe Yates came on to bowl, who also kept the run rate low, with a maiden in her first over along with a wicket in her second.
Beth Black took 3 wickets in her final over with only going for 3 runs from her two overs.
After the first innings, Bourne set a total of 206 off 16 overs. Sileby presented a very good fielding and bowling performance with everybody contributing.
The first batting pair were Brodie Miller and Beth Black, with them both running singles along with Miller hitting a few 4s.
Sileby had already achieved the score which put Sileby in a good position.
The next pair of Yates and Shelton added lots of singles to the score board, constantly rotating the strike. This led to the Mother and daughter pair of Patsy and Polly Huband, with them both contributing to the score.
The final batting pair was Polly Huband and Grace Huband, with Polly adding more singles to the score.
Overall , Sileby had an outstanding win with Sileby’s innings adding up to 294 and they only lost one wicket. An amazing win, with some outstanding teamwork.
